Tennessee Republicans took aim at Michelle Obama Thursday.

(CNN) – In a preview of the potential political onslaught Michelle Obama may face in the fall, the Tennessee Republican Party unveiled a new Web video Thursday that highlights her controversial comment earlier this year saying she was proud of America "for the first time in my adult life."

The four-minute video coincides with Mrs. Obama's visit to the state for a Democratic Party event later Thursday. It features several Tennesseans saying why they are proud of America while repeatedly cutting to Mrs. Obama's comments.

"The Tennessee Republican Party has always been proud of America. To further honor the occasion of Mrs. Obama’s visit, the Tennessee Republican Party has requested the playing of patriotic music by radio stations across the state," said a statement on the party's Web site that accompanied the video.

"While Mrs. Obama has trouble being proud of the country where she earned degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School and then became a multi-millionaire, her husband makes statements that belittle average Americans’ response to the difficulties of life."

The Obama campaign called the attack "shameful."

"This is a shameful attempt to attack a woman who has repeatedly said she wouldn't be here without the opportunities and blessings of this nation," said Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan. "The Republican Party's pathetic attempts to use the same smear tactics to win elections have failed in Mississippi, failed in Louisiana, and will fail in November because the American people are looking for a positive vision of real change.

If you're putting your wife on the campaign trail, you're putting here in the line of fire of political campaign tactics. Why is Obama trying to say there are rules? There are no rules. It's Dog eat Dog and he needs to just toughen up, and toughen his wife up. It's called "The First Family". I want a hungry couple who's willing to fight for what they believe in while holding hands.

She doen't even have the courage to be American. Her husband is another unpatriotic as she is and thinks that the US has 57 states.

GOP failure   May 15th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

I'm glad the GOP and John McCain wants to make this election about real issues that matter to Americans are not attempting to use patriotism as a wedge.

Insert Sarcasm here.

Maybe they finally realize they have no real issues which the American people are fond of anymore.

This Country will never vote on important issues for example affect our pocket books,we just look for ignorant ways to bring down a person. But United we stand, divided we keep sinking deeper into that sink hole we find ourselves in. I am seeing that we Americans do not know how to get along, we just find ways to pull each other down. You would have thought she robbed a bank, Model citizen? NOT important, it's that she declared she was proud to be American for the first time. Perhaps the critics should ask other people if they love the red white and blue 24/7. Maybe just maybe people are a little bitter, dissapointed, mad sometimes, we are not communists, we don't have to walk around grinning and dancing all the time like they do in North Korea!!!! It's supposed to be a free country, on the other hand this election season has taught me that we really may not be as free as we thought.

Logic Man   May 15th, 2008 3:46 pm ET

Yeah, I'm sure republicans have always been proud of their country. I'm sure they were quite proud of America during the close to 400 years of slavery. I'm sure they were quite proud of segregation laws, repression of Black Americans and jim crow throughout most of the 20th century. I'm sure they were proud of American bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing thousands of innocent people. I'm sure they were quite proud of their country during the Iran Contra affair. I'm sure they were extremely proud of America during the Tuskegee Experiment. Need I continue?

After Bush's BS today - some of the Republicans should consider switching parties or becoming independent if they want to be re-elected.

Bush is killing that party. Demos will unite.

Get off of Michelle!! Her comment could have been worded better, but as usual is blown out of all proportion by the Clinton News Network. You guys are shameful sham of a news network!!! You try to create a controversy with Obama calling a female reporter "sweetie" which is an anti-controversy. This has already been hashed over endlessly by fixed news, clinton news network and fascist talk radio. Arent our boys and girls still dying in Iraq/afghanistan? Didnt this administration make about $500 billion dissappear without a trace? Isnt Gas $4 a gallon? These are the questions the corporate media seems to want to avoid like the plague, instead we get rev wright and one comment by Michelle (who by the way will make a great first lady, get over it racists) over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over…………………………….year after year, decade after decade!! How do you think we got Bushwhacked in the first place? becuase no one is paying attention to real issues and focusing on tabloid rubish. Its time for us to pull our heads out of our collective behinds and get real and roll up our sleeves and start repairing our country, or be resigned to the trash heap of history!!!

This is out of the Senator Hillaryt Clinton Playbook.

Now, let be very clear that will not sway voters who are demcrats an desire a change. So, if that the best the republican party got bring in on…

"Potential Political Onslaught"??

That's quite an understatement when you calculate in the surprise professed by the Obamas at Jeremiah Wright's radical and anti-American rants. Was Michelle also not in church when Wright made such comments? Did Michelle also not read Wright's popular church newsmagazine??

A single glance at any issue of Wright's Trumpet magazine, and it's plain to see the radical politics he preaches at the black community. Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan was on the cover of a December 2007 issue along with Reverend Wright’s description of him as a "21st century giant." In 2006, Wright likened hurricane Katrina to "the flood waters of white supremacy", adding "that is an analogy that we need to drum into the heads of our African-American children." Wright even goes as far as to call African-Americans "songbirds" who are locked in "this cage called America."

Whose greatly admired pastor for 20 years!!??

Don't come to Tennessee Michelle! We voted for Hillary the strongest most electable candidate. You're wasting your time because after the election in November you won't be in Washington come January - you'll be in Chicago - hopefully for good!

Sue, Bloomington, IN   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

What is wrong with these people! I'm ashamed that I was ever a republican. They know darned well that Michelle Obama was talking about being proud of the political process going on in this election. She was not talking about the country itself. It was a bad sound bite along the lines of "I can see us being in Iraq for 50 years"

Lisa   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

I am so proud to say that I am a patriotic American citizen of TN, Mrs. Obama needs to understand that the majority of Americans are very proud of our country, and all of the good things that we do worldwide. I for one would never never vote for her husband.

You can take anything that someone says and make it offensive! I think that this kind of BS going on in our press while people are dying in the middle east, (and everywhere else) is much worse than Michelle's comment! If the press would cover the injustice going on in the world instead of forcing their political agenda on us, we would be better off!

Go Barak and Michelle Obama!   May 15th, 2008 3:44 pm ET

I am just sick and tired of this particular area of slander!.. anyone with democratic sense knows she was referring to the support her husband was and is receiving and was expressing pride in the way the country was THEN not so obsessed with race! If you remember correctly Sen. Obama was winning states that were particularly not seen as obtainable and had momentum that had the country in awe…thus, the reason for her comment. Fox's Hannity has referred to her comment for 32 nights in a row as well as Rev. Wright and Bill Aires! (maybe even more, 32 nights ago is when i started counting)
IF THIS IS THE BEST YOU'VE GOT THEN KISS YOUR PARTY GOODBYE..oh.. and BRING IT ON!!!!

Go Barak and Michelle Obama!

39 YR OLD WHITE WOMAN IN SEATTLE   May 15th, 2008 3:43 pm ET

this is typical of republicans trying to turn a simple comment into something else. I too am finally proud to be an american. This country has needed change for a long, long time and it is about time that it is coming.

When you look back into the history books, there was a lot of things that we as a country should not have been proud of and to see us coming together and showing that color and financial status does not matter when it comes to what is best for OUR country.

YES, I TOO AM NOW PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!

They want to go after the Obamas, go right ahead. The "patriotism" crap won't work. After Bush's comments today, I think they need to discard the fear and patriotism card if they want a future in this country, albiet 40 years from now.

This is so sad that all the republican party can produce on the obama's is a misunderstood phrase, it's a shame that people want to keep stating someone is un patriotic because of a statement. I recently saw pictures on the internet of people hung in trees while onlookers with their children present took pictures, this was in the united states of america south not too many years ago. Stop harping on these trivial issues and let hope and change take place to give our future a better United States of America.

More of the same "straw man" Politics…in the context of Mrs. Obama's entire speech, it is obvious she is speaking of being proud of the groundswell of NEW NATIONAL INTEREST in politics—something that HAS NOT HAPPENED IN THIS COUNTRY IN HER ADULT LIFE.

She, like many of us, is proud that so many new faces (and old faces like mine) have been invigorated by the possibility of being lead by a person of dignity and intellectual weight…rather than by a puppet of politics, punditry and populist lies.

The future has a new face because hope is possibility. Get used to the idea–we don't have to SETTLE for a President anymore if we don't want to.

Chris   May 15th, 2008 3:42 pm ET

It won't work this time. Americans are wiser. Bring up all the sentiments you wish to bring up; we are sticking to the issues.

Thanks Michelle…we (Americans) who worked so hard to make those gains for the country…appreciate your respect and thanks.

Go home!!! You do not deserve and have not earned the job of first-lady. !!

As an adult this race, Obama/Hillary has placed excitement and more voter, viewer and the belief that we can make a different. Therefore, I truly understand what is meant by, "for the first time in your adult life you could feel proud."

I feel blessed to witness such a history making time in my life. The REPS or DEMS can try and turn this any way they like. One thing is for sure, I forgot what it felt like to believe in this country or to believe strong heartly that one person can make a different. Being strong willed and straightforward is my personally, but I did not realize that the dream had die inside me. When I heard the words repeatly "yes we can", this became a part of me.

I have heard Michelle Obama speak. She is not only a very intelligent woman. She also rings very true.
Whatever attacks the republicans have in store for her, I hope that she can ignore them as they are probably not worth her time.
I am convinced that Obama will be our next president and I have to say that I will then be proud to live in this beautiful country once again.

Dear Republican morons: Read her comment again–"for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country…" If you studied English, the word "really" implies emphasis–Michelle Obama has been proud of her country, but even more at this time in history. Your other choice for first lady is Cindy McCain who inherited millions from her daddy's beer distributorship and who once stole drugs because she was addicted. (It's true–you can look it up)

Have any of these numbskulls actually listened to what Michelle Obama said? She said "Really Proud" and not just “Proud”. So who said she wasn’t proud at all? In grade school we were taught to read between the lines - of what we read and what we are told. Reading between the lines of what Mrs. Obama has said, it seems fairly clear that she is referring to the debacle that is the Bush legacy. World opinion of the USA is at its lowest level level in memory. WHile, on a micro scale there remains, most asuredly, many reasons to be proud of your country, on a macro level, it is quite a different story.

Mrs. Obama's words were poorly chosen but I strongly believe that they have been taken out of context and spun to mean something entirely contrary to what was intended.

The first time to be "really proud" is not the same as the first time to be proud. Maybe that's why the accurate quote of Mrs. Obama is never aired in the smear campaigns. I believe she just meant she was proudest of the country at this time. Being "really" proud does not negate all of the times that she has been proud in the past. She's just voicing a degree of difference in degrees.

If this is the best the Republicans can do, they will live to lose again.

How would those republicans like for their wives/husbands/children to come under attack? There needs to be some degree of decorum!!!!

Well GOP

look at Mississippi
Look at New Orleans

have a clue?

Fix the issues you GOP and BUSH have put us into:

1) 9 trillion dollars
2) Economy in recession
3) High gas price
4) Mortgage crisis
5) dumb war in Iraq with over 4000 lost precious American lifes and 1 trillion $, over 30,000 injured Irq veterans

Show you patiotism by taking care of the Veterans you have forgotten.

Shame on you GOP, BUSH , McCain

hard working, white middle-aged woman   May 15th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

There have been times in the past that I have said that I was NOT proud of my country. When I've seen the destruction that we brought about in Irak, when I've seen how we left people sitting there in New Orleans after Katrina hit and other times as well. But still I love my country and yes there times when I'm extremly proud to be an American. It seems to me the republicans will try anything, why ? because they are afraid, they know the jig is up !.

Go Obama !

Pam   May 15th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

Come on people, quit using every little nit picking thing to try and erase the new change that is coming to America. Idiots who make themselves look like a bunch of ignorant rednecks. I am a white American and ashame of the divisive crap that some people cannot let go of! Move on oe move out. My God let the bubba mentality die, once and foir all!! The hatred some of you have is scary. WWJD?

Take a couple words and pound them in to the ground… Thats how you win an election.

Republicans should be proud of their leadership!

MI 4 Obama!   May 15th, 2008 3:34 pm ET

I think Michele's comment was take way out of context. Who of us has not been frustrated for many years. Crime, moral decline, cost of living, laws that make no sense….I could go on and on. There have been times that I wasn't proud to be an American. Didn't mean I prefered to live somewhere else, didn't mean that I thought we were worse than other countries,,,but lets face it folk….things in America have not been good in a long long time.

Obama 08 to fix America and make us a proud nation once again!

Ray Ito   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Why wouldn't Republicans like Cindy McCain be "proud" Americans all their lives? She never experienced racism, she sat on millions of dollars all her life, never been discriminated against by other Americans.
Why wouldn't she be a "proud" American?

After centuries of racism, this is the first time a black person is having a real shot at the White House. Michelle Obama is very right - let's not dance around what true patriotism is.

AJ, IL   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

As an Obama supporter, the Republican Party is screwing up big time. They are exploding all over from Illinois, to Louisana and Mississippi and now Tennessee.

Attacking Obama's wife in Tennessee? Instead of trying to rally Republicans to support and vote for McCain or present Americans with real solutions to the major problems we face as a country, they are attacking Obama's wife one statement showing that the politics of distraction and personal destruction will be their weapon in 2008!

Mike   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

The Tennessee Republican Party goes immediately into the gutter. This is exactly why we need a new politics in this country.

Saul M.   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Why fan the flames of this nonsense.

Michelle   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

For those people in this country fortunate enough not to have to love a country DESPITE how bad it has treated you as a people…Michelle's use of the word "REALLY" will be misunderstood.

They are walking a dangerous path attacking Obama's wife (the future 1st Lady).

Jessica, GA   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Republicans: what are your plans for this country?

gsusgrl   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Is Michelle Obama running for office? This strikes me as a desperate attempt at winning by throwing everything, including the kitchen sink at the Democrates.

KT   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Michelle's college roommate was pressured by her family to drop out of Princeton rather than live with a black roommate. Do you have any idea what that type of knowledge would do to an 18 year-old?

Where have the Tennessee Republicans been the last 8 years? The economy is terrible, Bush started an illegal war that has killed a million people, food prices are up, medical costs are up, etc. and Michelle and the rest of America are supposed to be proud?

Halliburton is proud. Maybe the Tennessee Republicans should ask Halliburton why it is proud of America.

EDW   May 15th, 2008 3:33 pm ET

Once again people, she said she is REALLY proud to be an American right now. As in, I'm REALLY proud to be an American when I see that we run to the aide of China after their earthquake, even with our political differences.

Mike Lorain, OH (Please post CNN)   May 15th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

Leave to Tenn. GOP to belittle a candidate's wife; whom herself isn't running for office. So does this mean that Cindy McCain is fair game…frankly I say no. Leave Cindy and Michelle out of this. Otherwise….CINDY SO US YOUR TAXES. CINDY, how did you like being a one time mistress to a 40 year old married man??

Why does the GOP insist that everyone wear their patroitism on their sleave? Why can't you be proud but still critical about policies that you don't like?

Sylvia   May 15th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

that is why McCain will win if Obam gets the nomination

The Lord is with you   May 15th, 2008 3:32 pm ET

My advice to Michelle Obama is keep up the good work for your husband. There are people in this world that will never understand the crisis America faces. We as Americans need to come together, and if we don't Shame on Us. Your Husband knew the odds were against him in this country because of people with envy and jealousy. You know the saying if you cant do better than some people than who can you do better than. We all know what you meant when you made the statement . The history of the United States concerning African Americans has not and sometime still is not one of Pride, but should be shame. Yes we all should be Proud of this country at this moment and right now. I pray for you and Senator Obama, and I know God is watching all of us.

Be Blessed

margo   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

What a bunch of losers.

Nick - Arlington, VA   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

thats right republicans start running against the misspeak of a candidate's wife….take that moral high ground….(im sorry but my sarcasm should be noticeable)

Jill   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

i am not at all surprised to see a state Republican party stoop so low. I am certain the national Repubs will join them in the gutter. It is incredibly difficult to be proud of America with Bush spewing ridiculous drivel as he did in Israel. You want to talk about who's delusional? - try the Repub party - the whole bunch of them. Disgusting!!

Michelle Obama, on the other hand - a truth teller.

eleanor owen   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

During the last eight years of a Bush administration there is a lot
to be ashamed of. War, torture, sending our troops in harms way
without proper equipment, not taking care of them when they return
and on and on.
For the first time in a long time I am beginning to have hope and
feel pride in my fellow Americans.

kamenwati   May 15th, 2008 3:31 pm ET

It is just this kind of petty bulls**t that marks the Republicans as the party of division and hate. Keep it up Republicans. Let it all hang out. Because we, the electorate, are going to bury you in November.

Janel, St. Paul, MN   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

What an ignorant ad! If the McCain staff would have taken the time to listen to Michelle's entire speech, they would know that this is not what she meant. She has said over and over. . .from day one of her husband's campaign. . .how proud she is to be an American. And she goes into great detail explaining why.

I guess McCain has already forgotten his promise to run a "clean" campaign. So much for his promises!

Jan from Boca Raton FL   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Can you imagine Michelle Obama as First Lady?????

Just look at her. Compare her to Cindy McCain, Jackie Kennedy

Bill Clinton would be a great First Lady, and he is good looking

And this is news?

Melinda Charlotte, NC   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

Michelle Obama will be a disgrace as First Lady of the United States if her husband is ultimately elected. She is a mean and bitter woman , and she is one of the main reasons I will be voting McCain in November. I simply can't envision such a negative personality representing our country. I mean, really, this woman trash talks Americans everywhere she goes. It is a disgusting attribute for the spouse of the would be president.

Kate   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

and I agree with her. Being an American does not mean you have to be proud of every action our government takes, in fact being an American is having the nerve to stand up and voice your concerns. Being an American does not require you to wear a flag pin on your lapel, especially when those who do are the ones who do the opposite of good for our nation. Our founding fathers were the originators of this kind of freedom and I for one am sick and tired of the conservative Republican base condemning those who do not show their alliegence in the same manner they choose to. I am proud to be part of an America that has a presidential candidate who not afraid to say what the majority of us have been feeling and thinking.

Maxine   May 15th, 2008 3:30 pm ET

I tell you what if this is the best the Republicans got, give it your best shot…..but hey the Republicans have so much to be proud of…..the Iraq war, 4,000 Americans lives, gas prices, home forclosures, loss of jobs, bad treatment for our vets, and oh I don't know GWBush….yeah I would be bragging about those accomplishements. Now here comes the 100 year war and what economy McCain. Whose wife has investments in Sudan…….

Lilarose In Oregon   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Michelle Obama is already a loose canon, and I think she is going to be a problem once Obama is in the White House.

faye, NV   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Mrs. Obama stay strong and focus on what is apparently right. I too can say that this campaign has made me and each person should be extremely proud to be an American.

We have two strong canidates that brings back the strength of America.

And this is just one of many reasons why half of the democrats think Clinton is more electible in the general.

Fed Up with DNC   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Nice try, RNC, but this ain't gonna work. Like President Obama always say, "NOT THIS TIME". You need to devote your time and energy into coming up with a strategy on how to keep the Republican Seats. You've already lost three that you were supposed to easily win.
Mark my words: The Obama Smear campaign will be the death of the Republican party!

MM/ FL   May 15th, 2008 3:29 pm ET

Pat-WA   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Say what ever they want, many few that way… There has been so much over the last few years to cause doubt. With this process I too must admit at this time with the possiblity of change I too am really proud of my country.

I'm truly proud of how the majority of the people in this country has gotten past race and not looking at the color of one skin but what the individual can bring to our country. Hope!

Kristi, Chino Hills, CA   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

All I can say is this is just typical of the Republican Party as a whole. Bottom line, this is old news and if these so-called Americans are so proud of their country, why did they elect and re-elect someone who has no idea what is good for this country? Shame on them!!

1ofDa10th   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

Ploys like this make me ashamed to be from the great state of Tennessee. Personally, I agree with Michelle Obama to a certain extent. If you can be disapointed with you friends, your family, or even yourself, why is it so wrong to be disappointed in your country???

democrat   May 15th, 2008 3:28 pm ET

All republicans can do or know how to do is to tear down. They don't know how to build up.

Easy now for me to see that after these 8 years.

. . . One only has to think of the George Bush regime before stepping
into the voting booth. Then pull the lever against the republican party. Its that simple. Nothing else needs to be said or thought about.

Get Real   May 15th, 2008 3:27 pm ET

I can see right through that tactic. Real people with good minds know exactly what you meant Michelle.

Republicans are trying to be evil and use smear campaigns against you and Obama but they will not succeed.

Whats really unpatriotic is how Americans use and abuse others for power instead of trying to win votes on their accomplishments and goodness.

Evil comes from the devil and people need to stop letting the devil use them.

Why is patriotism only what Republicans think it is. Get over yourselves and get a real message. Maybe you might get a legit vote.

R.I.F.   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

No policies, no hope, just a bunch of smear tactics. That's all the GOP has. How about running some ads on the GOP's agenda and what they are going to do to put this country back on the right track rather than tabloid issues.

You guys convinced enough Americans last time that Bush was the better person to throw back a beer with and look where the country is today.

Use that money to try to hang on to your seats in the House.

Sylvia   May 15th, 2008 3:26 pm ET

This used to work in the past, but not at this moment , not a this time.. not with this election…. The White House will be for the Democrats..
Michelle proud or not proud does not put food on our table, bring the gas price down, stop us loosing houses , or bring our troops back.. If you have a debate, bring the issues. That 's we are looking for .

Fellow republicans, this move is stupid. Let's face facts whoever thought that Michelle Obama's husband would be embraced by the overwhelming majority of voters in Iowa? She has every reason to feel how she felt.

Why make this an election issue? Instead of helping to move this country forward, some of us are stuck in backward mentality that propelled Bush to the White House. Look at the results today!

Carol, California   May 15th, 2008 3:25 pm ET

I am an Obama supporter but, I gotta say, I don't like this lady. She needs to shut up and stay out of it. You went to Harvard, babe, you have a $300k job, you haven't exactly had it rough. Stop complaining.

Just because their husband holds an elected office does not give them a forum to voice their opinions. I do not care what Michelle Obama or Elizabeth Edwards or any of the rest of them think about anything.

You want to speak your opinions? Then run for office and get your own job.

"for the first time in my adult life, I am "REALLY" proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback… not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."

Used another way:

Yesterday I was happy to go to work because I am bless to have a job, but today I am REALLY happy to go to work because it's payday.

Translation: My degree of happiness has been elevated due to being paid.

It amazes me how everyone seems to drop the word 'REALLY' when talking about her comment.

A person can be more "proud or happy" on different occasions….or am I missing something?

so what she proud of her husband anybody would be proud of there husbands if they were running for president, you see this is the problem with republicans instead of talking about the issues that matters in america most they are making big news about what michille said american people are tired of that kind of negative politics this is why we have bush in that office if only american people would have voted for algore or john kerry we wouldnt be in this mess we are in, we need to stop listening to such kind of politics

This is more proof the republicans are repugnant and why they are so hated. They have no clue as to what's important to the American people.

True Americans have the right to talk about there own country. Just like family members can talk about there own family members. Being a hillbilly I get pissed off when people make fun of mountain folks. Come on, I love America, but still there are times I am not proud of my country. This does'nt make me any less of a American.

Awesome - this pattern by the Reps is certain to turn away their support in droves… let 'em keep at it, they are so far behind, they think they're first!

This is the first time in my life I seen so many people care about the political process. Its why we are seeing record turn out. Its a good thing unless your a Republican and want to keep turn out as low as possible.

Talk about the Republicans taking her comments out of context.

The Republicans do not have a strong enough candidate therefore must stoop to these levels.

Mrs. Obama is not running for office. The didn't even treat HRC this badly when she was first lady. I wonder why Michelle is receiving this treatment. What makes her DIFFERENT from other potential first ladies…hmmmm….

Will people bring up Cindy McCain's drug history?

She didn't say it was the first time in her life that she was proud of her country. Of course she has always been proud of her country. She said now she is REALLY proud of her country for the advances that have been made. Think about it. This is the first time a woman and black person have even had a chance to go this far. Since she fits into both categories, of course this would make her even more excited and proud. Also, the Democratic party has increased it's roll by hundreds of thousands this year so this is a real advancement too. She was just saying that she is even more proud this year. Way too much was written into her statement.

Get off of it Tennessee Republican Party. What a low blow to go after the first lady like that… :)
Michelle, don't even entertain the shinnanigans that the Republican party put forth. Their still sour about their congressional seats being taken away from them.

This is such old news. Most people didn't care then, and they obviously don't care now. Tennessee Republicans need to find something to offer from their candidate, not dig up dirt on the opponent. Mean GOP politics!!!!!

How low can the RNC sink. Do they even have a plan for leading this country out of the huge mess it's in because of them. Do they actullay think this will solve any one of the urgent problems we are facing everyday. How can they be so totally moronic as to believe that as I struggle to put gas in my car, buy food, pay my utilities that I CARE about this. November can't get here soon enough.

Michelle is a very angry woman.
She has not shown any shown empathy for anyone.
She is viewed as one of the "most miserable millionare" by many on several news stations.
She has commented about 'mean" Americ, I have not been proud to be an AMerican and has been putting down our beautiful nation for months.

Dear Republicans:

Should Democrats retort about how out of touch Cindy McCain is with the average person, and how t
