Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama appear at a unity rally in June.

BUTTE, Montana (CNN) — Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will appear together at three fund-raisers next week in New York, an Obama spokeswoman said.

Two of the fundraisers are aimed at raising money for Obama's Democratic presidential campaign, and one to try to retire the debt from Clinton's failed effort to win the nomination.

Two of the fund-raisers are Wednesday night. Thursday morning, they'll also appear together at a women's fund-raising breakfast for Obama.

The events are private.

The New York events will make five times the two have appeared together since Clinton ended her quest for the nomination last month.

Obama announced in June he would not take public funds for his presidential run, making him the first general election candidate to do so since public financing was instituted in the 1970s.

By doing do, he passes up over $84 million in public funding, but frees himself from a cap on spending. Obama has raised over $270 million to date.

John McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, has raised about $100 million as of the end of May and is expected to take public financing.

Clinton ended her campaign for the Democratic nomination about $22 million in debt, including roughly $12 million which she loaned to herself.

Obama and his wife Michelle both made the maximum legal donation to Clinton's campaign after it ended.

Winning candidates often work to help retire the debts of those they defeated once nomination races end.

Who cares! I am still voting for Hillary in November in my State. Obama is a flip-floper; he changes his positions like the wind. He is the least experineced, he is a typical politican, he will throw anyone and everyone under the bus if they get in his way of winning, and he is so arrogant. I am laughing so hard everytime I see him switch so fast on everything he ran on in the primaries. His followers were fooled big time.

He and his followers called Hillary almost every name in the book and now they want us to follow him and be good little girls and boys??? I think not!

Alex, Florida   July 5th, 2008 12:17 pm ET

Hillary and her arrogant, trash talking campaign has done more damage to the dem party than good. Shes simply for herself, not the party, and not for America. A total disgrace of a leader and such a GREAT thing she didnt get the nomination. The campaign against Obama really showed her true colors.

To all you "if not Hillary then McCain" people. Obama won in a very diplomatic way. The MAJORITY of the people have spoken! Its the way we do things here in America. Get over it! You're nothing but sore losers.

gramb   July 5th, 2008 12:23 pm ET

Remember something very important all you Clinton supporters who say you're going to stay at home in November…THAT IS A VOTE FOR MCCAIN!

Jack from California   July 5th, 2008 12:25 pm ET

Whatever you think about Barack Obama at least he's not a "republican" and that's enough for me!

Real Democrats don't sit at home and they surely don't vote republican!

We have had 8 years of the worst president in American history and John McCain wants to continue this streak! Democrats forget about race and get a Democrat in the White House!

Hellary, Bully like Bush   July 5th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

Hillary is nothing but a loud mouth, trash talking bully. Her true colors were shown in the primary by disgracing herself and Obama by saying ANYTHING in attempts to get the nod.

Hillary or bust supporters. YOU'RE PATHETIC SORE LOSERS!

A SONGBIRD SANG IN VIETNAM   July 5th, 2008 12:26 pm ET

I still believe her campaign was divisive - look at how split the voters are.

However, respecting everyone's right to choose who to vote for, let her followers choose McCain.

It may be the last choice they ever have, as McCain will set up the supreme court to remove as many women's rights as possible.

No More to Bush/Cheney/Rove/McCain and their team of goons.

How about this for Democratic Kood-aid!! Maybe the media darlings will do more events. I noticed that there are no positive news stories about McCain on this website, and yet most of Obama's are made to make cast him in the most positive light. And yet, most polls have McCain and Obama in a dead heat. The independent media indeed.

No Hillary as VP - no vote for Obama.

And, according to the latest CNN poll, many Clinton supporters are NOT supporting Obama. And there are 18 million of us. And Obama needs EVERY single one of us.

Obama is only leading McCain by a statisically insignificant margin.

Considering, the climate (i.e. Bush's low approval rating, the weakness of John McCain as a candiate) he should be WAY ahead.

No Hillary as VP - no vote for Obama.

Simple as that …….

Californian for Obama   July 5th, 2008 12:32 pm ET

I thought Obama was doing just fine without Clinton. He already has her true supporters behind him. No matter what CNN, and their dumb polls of what supporters of Clinton's aren't going to support Obama. This race is not even gonna be decided by those morons. So I wish people would stop being so uneasy about people who supported Clinton in the primaries, but won't be supporting Obama. He certainly doesn't need them. Keep in ind that Clinton had 18 million votes behind her. Polls don't make up for half.

Manuel TX   July 5th, 2008 12:33 pm ET

No thanks.

The democratic party needs to come back to the center, and frankly, the only way to push it there is to demonstrate to the DNC that the voters control the party, not the other way around.

Also the garbage that was thrown at Hillary during the campaign still and always will disgust me.

I'll decide in November which of two choices to make; abstain from from voting or voting for McCain.

And no, I'm not a Republican. Republicans don't donate the maximum (and more) allowed to Hillary's campaign, as I have.

What I would like to know is why Clinton's die-hard pumacrats aren't helping her to pay off her debt. I received an email this morning from Dwight Pelz, Washington State, regarding unity, and helping Ms. Clinton to pay off her debt. I say, NO thank you very much. When I see all of the postings from disaffected Clinton supporters smearing Obama, why should I? I have donated to Senator Obama 4 times now. If I have any more extra to give, it will again be to Senator Obama, not Senator Clinton. I guess you could say that I still do not trust her. Judging by the postings of her supporters, I feel this way with good reason.

Obama is playing a two-faced game. He purposely selects a chief-of-staff for his VP long before it is necessary. Why, you ask? Because he selects a person that Hillary dismissed from her campaign. Why not let the VP select their own chief of staff? That Obama move was designed to humiliate Hillary —there is no other reasonable interpretation.
But here comes the two-faced part. Now he sucks up to Hillary because he needs her support. Sounds like Obama is pretty much a weasel, right? Right!

They look good together. Safe choice for Obama, especially to secure those Clinton supporters. Any attempt to ditch Clinton afterwards may influence John McCain to choose a female and hurt Obama's chances. Obama should forget the opinions of talking heads like Jack Cafferty and Chris Matthews and stick with his inner guts of going with Clinton.

The Original Obama, 2008.

pauline   July 5th, 2008 12:41 pm ET

No matter how many times Hillary and Obama appear together, there will be no change in the sentiments of many women who supported Hillary unless Obama acknowledges the sexism and misogyny that derailed her campaign and admits their role in his nomination. And the latest polls indicate that many Hillary supporters are not just "getting over it," (as Obama so indelicately told them to do) and instead are waiting to see if he is smart and courageous enough to run with Hillary. He should ignore the pundits and go with a running mate that will lure women to vote Obama-Clinton.

p.s. Someone needs to tell Obama to hire a feminist advisor who can stop him from worsening his standing in they eyes of women (i.e. his constant condescending comments about women voters and Hillary's candidacy) Just appearing with Hillary will not make women forget how he used male privilege to win.

independent voting for democrat   July 5th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

My vote is for Obama. It's good that Hillary and Obama are working together. Definitely, the American people are not ignorant to select another republican and spoil out country for another 4 years. So the choice is clear, it's the media that's trying to play the trick to make some millions here and there, but the reality is that - no matter what happens - our next President will be a democrat.

NG in DC   July 5th, 2008 12:42 pm ET

HAswamp   July 5th, 2008 12:43 pm ET

Its a good gesture of both of them, Obama should help pay HRC debt as much as possible, there may be more fundraisers required, which will be distracts from the campaign.

So far many HRC staunch supporters are not buying Obama's arguments, they are critical on every news that comes out about Obama, it seems likely that many of them will stay home and not be voting. We have to accept the reality and move on. Perhaps, HRC and her supporters still think that Obama is not electable, in spite of Obama's lead in many key states in polls, and they are trying to prove their arguments. I doubt if Bill will truly come out to help in any major way, its obvious that he has made no public endorsement on any sort.

Its a very clear choice between the two candidates, whoever people want will be the next president.

I strongly recommend the HRC lovers and Obama haters to do whatever they wish, but stop throwing things on blogs that no longer make any sense.

I'm an independent. Personally? I'm voting for McCain. You can call him McShame, McSame, McBush … I really don't care. I didn't care when you called Hillary "Billary" either. It's pretty sad how Obama supporters treated such a longstanding and faithful party servant.

I'm pretty middle of the road and so is McCain. He's the only presidential candidate that's actually crossed party lines in the past. Obama's way off in left field, and I've watched his message of "change" melt away in recent weeks to months. He's a career politician. He's not new, clean, or a representative of change. He is, however, a very eloquent and pleasant speaker, but flowery words aren't enough for me.

Obama's " change" is changing what he said in the primary to what he is saying now.

He said what he needed to say to knock Hillary from the race. Now he says what he needs to say to win middle America. He has no integrity and no fixed positions. He is in it to win (or steal).

The DNC treated the democratic voters terrible and they don't deserve our vote. Obama was favored and Hillary was forced out. Any democrat NOT for Obama was depicted as a stupid, ignorant, uneducated, moronic racist.

Hillary was qualified, experienced, consistent and knew her stuff.
That is why she was the people's choice.

If people can finally let Obama and Hillary themselves determine how they will work together, what kind of leadership role HRC will play in the future the democrats can win back the White House and set out on a new course from the past 8 years.

Second guessing by both the HRC haters and the PUMA's shows terrible disrespect for both Hillary and Obama and for thier intelligence. They can and will negotiate how they will work together. None of you second guessers have the qualifications of either of these two leaders. Stop your whining and sniping.

Let Obama and HRC (and other Democratic leaders) negotiate appropriate roles and if you support the Democratic party get behind them collectively.

Still for Hill but now ONLY for Hill   July 5th, 2008 1:02 pm ET

Shame on Obama.
He should be ashamed of himself and his campain he has run; trashing the Clinton's for weeks in the media. Obama simply doesn't have the resume with the job skills necessary to run our ailing Nation.

Hillary DOES. That is why most democrats voted for her— just to have the votes thrown out and disregarded.

Hill lost- but not in a fair fight. She was trashed, mistreated, heckled, booed and disrespected by Obama's hateful cult following.

We will not permit this bigotry, sexism and hatred to be the way to change for the "new" democratic party.

I'd like to see them do more PUBLIC events together so that her supporters and followers can see that she is sincere about the imperative that we elect Obama. She needs to help them understand the truth about politics and remind them that there were things said on both sides but that none of this hateful, sexist stuff they accuse HIM of came from him. Neither campaign was innocent. It was just politics. That we now have to focus on issues and the future of this country. Please Hillary. Follow through with your promise. And HRC supporters…please listen. Please vote the issues for the sake of this country.

HilBilly, despite all the rhetoric to the contrary and how much she helped Obama become a more seasoned candidate did irreparable damage to the Dems and Obama. PUMA = People Making Up Attitudes

If you people are so offended then give me one time where Barack Obama said or did something to offend you or Hillary Clinton. Heres mine.

-She shed doubts on his christian faith in an interview with 60 minutes even though he used to lead her group in prayer in the Senate.

-On several occasions she refused to publicly congratulate him after a primary win even though he admitted defeat and congradulated her every time. Bill even compared his SC victory to Jesse Jackson's inept campaign.

-When the Bosnia lie came to light, he remained hush hush. When she saw that Rev Wright would be a dagger she could use, she broke her silence. (Which sucks becuase up until then I respected her)

- Her and the Clinton Campaign constantly lied and said that Obama and his campaign were blocking attempts on a revote in Florida and Michigan. This was proven time and time again to be false.

-She constantly complained of sexism and he never once complained of racism. She offended many by implying that hard working people were only WHITE and weren't going to vote for him.

-She fudged math by almost daily moving the yardstick. He remained constant.

YOU PUMA KITTENS CAN MAKE UP CRAP ALL YOU WANT, BUT MOST PEOPLE WHO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SPORTS AND FAIR PLAY SEE YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE. YOUR BAD SPORTS PLAIN AND SIMPLE. GOOD THING YOUR CANDIDATE HAS MORE HONOR THAN YOU, TO ADMIT DEFEAT AND CARRY ON. If Obama is such a gift- and such a great "uniter", why is he unable to even unite his own democratic BASE- the lifelong dems?

Is it because using hatred, nasty attacks, and race baiting to destroy your opponent and debase her following is NO path to unity?

Is it because people like a fair campaign but reject a fixed one?

Is it because all his new democrats are hateful, vulgar, nasty people who trashed other democrats right out of the party?

Is it because he is unqualified for the job?

Is it because he is a celebrity created myth, hyped by the media?

Is it because his so-called crossover appeal was a media created myth- those people were Republicans who Obama appealled to with his "be a democrat for a day" campaign. The purpose was to eliminate HRC from the race. Now they can go back to being republicans. AND BE FOLLOWED BY US LIFELONG DEMS.

He ran a racebaited, hateful, destructive, dirty campaign that insulted and divided the party faithful.

He has flip flopped on most issues that won him the nomination over her and now he wants their support ?

Seems he is too busy running to the middle and changing his positions just to make history to worry about the Country or the rest of the democrats he needs to win.

Nothing will change the past- Obama resorted to using the race card and threats by the AAs in order to damage his opponent. His cult then used filthy, demeaning insults to debase and denigrate fellow democrats.

Whats even sadder is that Obama's supporters continue to see him as the Messiah. With all the dirty politics, race-baiting, pandering, and shifting on positions.

Is the RNC setting Obama, and the American Public up? by choosing John McCain as their nominee?

John McCain:
“The McCain Bill.” This measure turned “The Truth Bill ” on its head. It created a bureaucratic maze from which only a fraction of the available documents could emerge. And it became law. So restrictive were its provisions that one clause actually said the Pentagon didn’t even have to inform the public when it received intelligence that Americans were alive in captivity. Regarding opposition to the Truth Bill.
McCain has said again and again that he has seen no “credible” evidence that more than a tiny handful of men might have been alive in captivity after the official prison return in 1973. He dismisses all of the subsequent radio intercepts, live sightings, satellite photos, CIA reports, defector information, recovered

I am sure that again my comment will not be posted. In the past few months, you never post my comments that seem bad for Senator Obama but only the good one. Convert for comments I wrote about Senator McCain.

Your bias is so obvious now and you even advertise for Obama on your political webpages too. Do not think that people don't know. The way you behave this time of election is very bad and I am double if the level of trust that you already had with people around the world will be in the future.

HRC supporters and Hillary are not too blame for the travesty of this primary and the fact that the democrats installed a crappy nominee. WE DID OUR PART- we voted for the best leader, the best platform, the most experienced, the most qualified and tried champion for ALL Americans.

You stole it…you own it. Choke on your victory.

The price to pay- For hijacking the democratic party and forcing the DNC to install an unqualified, inexperienced, unelectable nominee with no track record… just because he is black.

Obama destroyed the democratic party- with his race baiting, his cheating, his lies and finally by stealing the nomination.

mike obama   July 5th, 2008 1:55 pm ET

Democrats were not ready for a woman to be their presidential nominee. Democrats were ready for a black man to be their presidential nominee. Are Americans ready for a black man to be their president in the general election? Go figure.

Wake up Amerika   July 5th, 2008 1:57 pm ET

In this historic democratic primary- either the woman or the (half) black man would win and one would lose.

So Oprah, Caroline, Maria, Ted, celebrities, Dean. Pelosi, the MSM, the DNC they all MADE THAT DECISION FOR THE VOTERS.

Strong arm tactics at caucus were allowd and subsequently ignored.

No revote for Fl or Mi- because Obama hired his lawyers.

Labeling the Clintons and liberal democrats as "racist" was a devious, divisive tactic that was encouraged and used as a weapon.

Mocking (Annie Oakley), demeaning and dismissing (brushing HRC off his shoulder) was accepted as cute, witty and funny.

The media drooling over Obama and spitting at HRC- that was just par for the course.

Spreading lies and misrepresenting HRC… fine… she is just a Clinton and its always open season on that family.

Everyday blasting Change change, yes we can. Of course we can!

Everything Hillary said in the campaign she stood by her words, judgement and presented realistic strategic positions to what Americans now face.

Hillary supporters are not only thinking about their choices but will always refuse anyone who does not meet their high objective standards of experience and qualifications.

Gender nor race is a factor here…. we are democrats for goodness sake. Stop the divisive race baiting and intra-party hatred.

I've been wondering about this for a few weeks. For those of you that insist that Hillary was the better candidate even though people who worked with her and knew her much better then you abandoned her (men and women), she had EVERY advantage going in (but blew it), her husband was a popular president (did not help), couldn't manage her own funds (looking for me to help), identified with McCain, lied about her trip to Bosnia (thank goodness for witnesses) and is still waiting for something bad to happen to Obama (her own words). Why aren't you PUMA's paying off her millions of dollars of debt that she incurred during her miserable, badly managed campaign. Put your money where your mouth is PUMA's!!

This is America… and we are rejecting the installed puppet candidate- eveen though he is young, cute and black.

We are not so biased and bigoted as the media and the Obama cultists- we are okay with middled aged, nice looking slightly overwweight female.

And the trend will continue.
Obama said all the right things at all the right times during the primary fight to sway far-left liberals and superdelegates. He stopped at nothing to debase HRC and force her out of the race.

Now on the national stage, he realizes that such talk is rubbish and will cost the Democrats the election and systematically changes all of his strident views.

Hillary, the true unifying stabalizing, qualified political force has been disenfranchised. So has the democratic base.

Lets hope that this treachery is not rewarded with a NOv win just because the country is in a bad way, and the republican brand is out of favor.

Our right to vote and be respected… HRC right to run and to be respected… our right to vote our conscience and have the votes count…
THAT is what is on the line.

Freedom, equalility and justice.

Hillary wants the stupid people of the USA to pay her back for the loan she gave to her campaign. And I just bet they will. This has nothing to do with Hillary supporters not wanting to vote for Obama. It's the fact that Obama has reversed his message that won him the nomination, and has now gone so far to the right in trying to win the votes of moderates and centrists, that if he continues along this path, come November, Obama will be a Republican! If I want a moderate Republican, then I might as well vote for McCain. At least he has a voting record that proves he is a centrist.

Never again a fixed primary.

The democratic party lost its way.

It drooled over the idea and marketed concept of an Obama.

They savaged Hillary, swiftboated her out of the race, and trashed and bashed their own base.

Insults and hate do NOT win over voters.

Glad to see Clinton and Obama working together. Whether they decide to run together or not, they understand that we cannot have 4 more years of: the Iraq War/ No Health Care/Jobliness/Lost jobs/Foreclosures/Sub-prime predatory lending/"No Child Left Behind" where 50% of our students have dropped out of high school in many American cities. If Senator Clinton's followers understand that Senator Clinton will still be there for them and that Senator Obama will also, then the Democrats will win. If you want more of the same and possibly worse, then your non-vote or support of Senator McCain will be a big mistake.

Concerned   July 5th, 2008 2:30 pm ET

I like Senator Hillary Clinton; however, I was very concerned about some of the negative statements that she proclaimed about Senator Obama during the primay season. Many of Senator Clinton's comments conditioned her supports to build a strong wall of resistance against Senator Obama.

If Senator Clinton's supporters care or ever cared about Equal Pay for Equal Work or wives who were dumped by their husbands for newer models, they should not vote for Senator McCain. All women should google "Senator McCain's First Wife". There they will find a painful story. Warning: Bring a tissue. The first Mrs. McCain is barely getting by while Senator McCain is living with his much younger wife in the lap of luxury. It burns me up. The first Mrs. McCain should renegotiate the terms of her alimony.

At the same time, Hillary is emerging more Stronger

It's not just Cinton supporters. Ralph Nader supporters don't embrace Obama either and our movement is growing online even if you block us out of national coverage.

Lack of support for Obama has everything to do with Obama being a weak choice for presumptive nominee. I

It is becoming increasingly obvious that he is unable to hold a strong position and fight for it - look at recent 'changes' on abortion rights, handgun control, wiretapping, and Iraq.

If Clinton is not on the ticket, and if she does not win on the floor of the convention, my vote will go to Ralph Nader or to Cynthia McKinney in the Green Party, because I cannot in good conscience support such an ill-prepared candidate who stole the nomination of his party.

Ian M   July 5th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

Why should Obama have to pay off her debt? It was her fault she kept going even after she knew she was going to lose. And it just goes to show: if you can't manage your campaign's money, how can you manage a country's money?

For all the good Bill Clinton's presidency did for America, that couple really is incredibly narcissistic.

judd   July 5th, 2008 2:32 pm ET

Obama writes in Dreams of my Father:
"My speeches with pretty words don't make it so, I give them because I like the applause, it gives me a cheap thrill, that's all."

There was never change to believe in. He just wanted to hear the applause and feel the love because he needed the love as he lacks self love and that is why he abused drugs.

Now he is addicted to the approval and attention of the public.

Hillary Clinton, tested through trying times and survived and becoming even stronger, vetted in many ways, proven progressive with 35 year record successfully advocating for our country is the reason why Hillary's people will not waiver from their position.

This election cannot be based on data from the past. There has been extreme divides and distrusts created within the Democratic Party that has never happened before as this was history and the leaders engaged in terrible exlusionary rigging of the election.
The divides are racial and gender and socieconomic.

The healing will not happen and the Democrats have suck their ship.

Their only salvation is to make Hillary the nominee as she carried the traditional and most stable Democratic party base.

William, from Cali!   July 5th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

My question is: Why should American taxpayers, who some are suffering economic hardships, themselves; be asked to pay the debts, of the Clinton's failed presidential run. When they clearly have the funds and means, to repay them, tthemselves. As a country, we also should have wide-spread "fundraisers," thru out the Nation, to offset the increasing rise, in home mortgages; don't you think? Now, that would be a "Real change"………………………………

AnnaCatherine   July 5th, 2008 2:34 pm ET

I sure wouldn't mind having her back in the race.

Obama is not a flip flopper. I wish people would call it what it is. Lying. He said what he had to say to beat Clinton, not because he meant it. Now he sings another tune. I don't want faith based anything.

The Iraq war is a tragedy. Americans are losing jobs and homes. What else has to be wrong?

Well, it certainly is 'change' for him, not for us. When his new attitude impacts his stockpile of money he may wish to reconsider. If he wants to blow his own chances he's allowed to do that. But he shouldn't blow mine. At a time when public opinion of politicians is lower than ever he just broght it down several more notches. Thanks Obama.

As a Clinton supporter, I do not support Obama because of his inexperience, his wishy-washy attitude, indecisiveness, and the fact that he seems to shape his opinions, usually after changing them several times, when they don't poll well. He comes off as weak, and even if Clinton is his VP choice, I'm gonna vote for someone else.

The Puma's are barely able to hide their racism and feelings of entitlement behind the veil of feminism. Clinton was and never will be a good candidate. Get over it. If you succeed in your hatefulness and McCain becomes president don't cry to me when he takes our rights away, sends more of our children to a war he will never end, and puts in more conservative judges. Obama is an unqualified senator who, by looking at his campaign against HRC, has little regard for women.

As a woman I am sick and tired of voting for the same old all male presidential tickets.
After what happened in this democratic primary that turned so many democrats away, I cannot vote for Barack.

He is NOT Mr. Clean. He plays dirty politics. He manipulates the media, he strategically used race as a shield against criticism and as asword to destroy his opponents. He is backed by the ethanol lobby (bad for greenhouse gases). He flip flopped on public financing, on NAFTA, Iraq and FISA.

And these nasty, insulting, forceful Obama supporters expect me to vote for such a weak candidate. He is seriously flawed and so is the democratic party.

Give me Hillary or give me any OTHER candidate, even McCain.

phony baloney Obama   July 5th, 2008 2:40 pm ET

Tell you what?

Apologize to Hillary for the bias, the unfairness, the hatred, the insults, the disrespect, the sexism, the mocking, the jeering, the ridiculing and the slanted media coverage…

Then we may reconsider.

I love you more NOW than EVER before, Hill.

You rock.

You will always have my vote.

No other democrat will get my vote again… until the party restores its own integrity, principles and ideals.

mitchell hussein martin   July 5th, 2008 2:41 pm ET

hillary supporters are too cheap to help their candidate with her debt, but, they'll be all over the blogs, talking smack, about how they were cheated out of the nomination ,by 18+ million voters, who supported their candidate with more than just blabbering idiocy.put your money where your mouth is,losers.

Propaganda   July 5th, 2008 2:43 pm ET

I am a strong Hillary supporter, and I know I will NOT vote for Obama. Whether or not I vote for McCain depends on who his VP is.

I would have voted for Hillary if she had been the nominee, but since the DNC and the media have annointed Obama, I will very likely just do a protest vote this election for the first time in 35 years.

Obama/Clinton 08′—-i know CNN likes the sound of that-they've been quietly pushing to see those two run together.

Dawn   July 5th, 2008 2:49 pm ET

Senator Clinton is doing everything she can for Obama. Let's hope he has the decency to reciprocate by giving her a choice of what she wants. Let's face it. If his opponent had been another male he never would have won the nomination to begin with.

New McCain Voter   July 5th, 2008 2:50 pm ET

Im voting McCain just to teach those sore-loser Hillary voters a lesson… Im not a woman or have any interest in the abortion rights issue, But I will be laughing when the McCain supreme court dissolves abortion rights and many other freedoms americans have.. You get what you deserve..

NObama Democrat   July 5th, 2008 2:53 pm ET

Vote A Straight Democratic Ticket

EXCEPT for Obama. We can then "Have our cake and eat it too".

A. When you vote in the November General Election leave the ballot for president blank, write in Hillary Clinton, or vote for Ralph Nader or McCain. It is your choice and it won't make any difference as long as you select all Democrats on the rest of the ballot.

B. Democrats will easily win the 2/3rd majority in the house and senate to block any McCain veto. It will even be fun watching McCain and the few Republican that will be left scream and cry while the Democrats end the war in Iraq, take back our country from the wealthy, fix the tax structures which are leaning toward the rich, and bring back good American jobs.

C. Than to top it off we will have the opportunity to elect a patriotic Democratic President in 2012

McCain will need congressional approval for near everything he does, and with a 2/3rd Democrat majority in the house and senate Democrats can over ride his vetos. That is why Democrats don't have to be concerned if McCain is elected. Then in 4 years we will be able to elect a patriotic Democrat as President

It's nice to see Hillary and Obama out campaigning together. I hope that if Obama wins, he nominates Hillary to be sec'y of Health and Human Services where she can work on her health care plan for America.

Price to pay is Obama himself   July 5th, 2008 2:57 pm ET

We love Hillary… but we vote on real issues not JUST on personality…

We will not simply "follow" our "Leader." After all, she is technically no longer our leader but now just a party tool for Obama.

Obama followers told me for months that Hill was a liar. You convinced me- so I think she is NOW lying about her support for Obama.

We think for ourselves… we don't just worship and follow.

T.T.   July 5th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

just add her as your VP already!

Bridgette - PA   July 5th, 2008 2:58 pm ET

OK, although I didn't initially agree with helping Hillary with her debt, I think all true democrats must come together and donate. We need to win the whitehouse. We all must stick together. If you have something negative to say, keep it to yourself. True Democrats will unite and undercover Republicans that pose as Dem's will type something negative!

OBAMA / SEBELIUS 08!

Hillary Clinton needs to do this for the Democratic Party. She took her supporters for a ride. A long ride. She led a harsh campaign that tore this party apart. She was advised by many of her ardent supporters that she could create a division in the party yet she pressed on and on with many of her supporters trailing faithfully behind her. To many, this was a good thing but history will tell you that it wasn't.

I think that Hillary Clinton was the biggest flip flop of all. She supported a vote that wouldn't allow delegates to be seated if they brook the rules. She than flip flopped when it became clear to her that her only chance left was to get all of the delegates from Michigan and Florida seated. She flip flopped to advance her chances and many of her followers signed onto her flip flop and still to this day can't see what she did.

She created a situation that drove even a bigger division amonst the party and yet some of her followers can't see that, either.

This very same person, who clearly aided in the division of this party is now willing to mend fences and start working again for the good of the party. She's doing this because she believes in the party. SHE BELIEVES IN HER PARTY. Yet some of her followers, who were just followers, not concerned American citizens, can't let go even though Hillary can, are going to vote against her and for McCain. Unbelievable, but true.

Hillary, I salute you for the courage it takes for you to accept the election process as it was and to move forward to work toward the common goals that you and Senator Obama favor for the good of the Ameriacn people. This is what is important to me. I think that with your help you will help us to elect a man that has promised to work for us, the American people. This country needs change. Both you and Senator Obama have promised us that change and I for one am putting my trust in yours and Senator Obama's hands. It is time for us to all to come together and move forward and insure our children and our Grandchildren that the next for years are just the beginning of the good that is to come.

Thank you, Senator Clinton!

obama is such a liar, he is flip flopping all over the place he sooooo looks like a fish ( freshman-unexperienced ). he will say anything and the zombies will follow. he sure does like a lot of republican ideas, the wolf is disguised as a democrate. follow him obama-nazis follow him over the edge and then maybe we can finally get ride of all the STUPID PEOPLE IN AMERICA. GO AHEAD AND FOLLOW HIM OVER THE CLIFF OF NO CHANGE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I'M SURE YOU ALL FEEL DUMB, OBAMA IS A RED TRYING TO POSE A BLUE.

Unity is better than division. To lose gracefully is being a good sport. Everybody can't win whether it's the olympics, the Academy Awards, or Nobel Prize. We all have to be grown up adults. No one stole the election. We went through the process everyone agreed on and Obama followed those rules and won. He was even gracious and gave away delegates he did not have to.He is generous to help pay Hillary's debt. Emotionally healthy adults should be able to look at the situation, evaluate what happened and move on.No one likes a sore loser. It is not the American way.

THE ONLY DEM who can lose in NOV   July 5th, 2008 3:03 pm ET

True Democrats… do not cave in… do not be bullied, forced or coerced into voting for Obama by comments posted by Obama supporters such as this:
"If you throw this election to McCain, the OTHER half of the Democratic party will make sure Hillary Clinton gets nowhere near a presidential nomination ever again. "

This election is Obama's to lose… by the dirty campaign he ran, by playing the race card, by dividing the party, by exploting the situation to advance himself…not to benefit his country.

The blame will go to Obama and his nasty band of haters.

No one knows the future…Hill may never run again.

Just more empty threats to intimidate others into voting their way.

People are starting to figure out what change Senator Obama is talking about. He keeps changing his positions all the time. He said one thing during the primary season and now another. We in Illinois are use to that. He will say that was then and this is now.

Senator Obama was elected an Illinois state senator in 1995. In less than 10 years he advanced to a U.S. Senator and now is the presumptive Democratic nominee for President of the United States.
Plus throw in his unsuccessful race for Congress in 2000. That is why he has such a successful campaign staff. While he was voting present or not voting at all, he was campaigning. That is where his experience lies, campaigns. He likes the chase, but appears he doesn't care for the jobs once elected. Just think, the people of Illinois elected him their U.S. Senator in 2005. After he was sworn into office in 2006 he promoted his books for a year and for the past two years he has been running for President after promising us he would complete his first term as our Senator. Where is his job experience?

Despite all the money he has and the stellar campaign staff he has, he isn't far ahead in the polls. Plus, put in John McCain's poorly run campaign. Senator Obama should be way ahead. But he isn't. This tells me people are not convinced he is capable of being our leader.
You can only get by on good speeches and words so much. Actions speak louder than words.

Don't listen to all the supposedly loyal Hillary supports. They are members of Chaos. No worries, Obama! The true supporters of Hillary will be with you in November because you represent what she believes. PUMA, and all the others were started in Phoenix. Coincidence? I don't think so…
